We are a design consultancy that develops interior environments specialising in high-end residential, restaurant, hotel and office projects. Our firm develops individual solutions for each project by taking a holistic design approach which combines carefully considered materials, detailing and precision with practical problem-solving. FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Darren Yap’s innate feel for design kickstarted his passion for this field. Even growing up, he would assist his mother in selecting furniture and beautifying their home during festive seasons. This led to him pursuing a Bachelor’s in Interior Design at Saito University College, one of the pioneers of design education in Malaysia. At the end of the course, he chose to intern at Spark Interior and upon completion of the six month program, was offered a full time job. He further honed his skills at RDM, an international design firm specialising in luxury hotels and Quirk & Associates, an international architecture and design firm specialising in commercial projects with a focus on lifestyle.
In 2015, he founded Iconz Design because he wanted to put his own stamp on projects and grow a design consultancy that would be synonymous with excellence and sought after as one of Asia’s leading design consultancies.
